Over the weekend 23rd to 25th April the district held it's St George's Day weekend camp.
It was held at Fordell Firs.
Over 120 Cubs/Scouts/Explorers and Leaders spent the weekend together.
The members had lots of activities to do over the weekend.

Backwoods cooking
Come Dine with me weekend
Hikes
and a trip to the Stock Cars.
this is to name but a few.
On the Sunday Beavers from the district joined us and they had several bases to work round.
they were.
Paddle boats.
Frisbee golf.
Sword and crown making
play area.
On the Sunday we held our service and renewed our promises.
There were several awards handed out during the service.

Gilwell Reunion 2010
Gilwell Reunion 2010 will take place from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 September 2010 at The Scout Association's Gilwell Park Activity Centre.
Reunion is an event which happens every year on the first full weekend in September. It was established to mark the occasion of the first Wood Badge course in 1919, enabling Wood Badge holders from across the world to come together as the 1st Gilwell Park Scout Group.

DC Diary
Sorry it is a bit late this month.
Lots to do and not enough time in the day's
Anyway here is what i was up to in March
I attended the Queen Scout Award presentation at the 13th scout hall.
This was for Stuart Hamilton.
Also it was announced that Linda Adam was getting her Award of Merit.
I had meetings with peter Merckel and Malcolm Fernie regarding the two Cowdenbeath groups.I also had a meeting with some members from the 46th Scout group.
I held a district leaders meeting in which several topics were discussed(ie Training)
I attended the district exec meeting held at the 68th scout hall.
I attended a DC's meeting to discuss Blair Atholl jamboree in the summer.

National Camping Competition 2010

Target Audience : Scouts
Event Description
This event, which will take place at Fordell Firs National Activity Centre over the weekend of 19th - 20th June, will entitle each Scottish Scout District to enter a team to compete to become National Champions.
We are delighted that Black's of Greenock are continuing to sponsor the event by providing £1000 worth of Black's of Greenock vouchers which can be used to purchase camping and other equipment for the Troop.
I would be grateful if you would ensure that the initial entry form and entry fee is returned to Scottish Headquarters as soon as possible and the final form including contact details for the Patrol by no later than the 21st May 2010.
Forms and further info to be sent out to Scout Leaders
As well as being Scottish Champions, the winners will receive £500 worth of vouchers with £300 of vouchers for 2nd place and £200 worth of vouchers for 3rd place.
Please study the new revised rules for the competition carefully as they are different from previous formats of the competition.
